By downloading, installing, or using the Community Library mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Community Library ("we," "our," "us"). We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

Community Library is a mobile application that enables users to:

• Create and manage a personal digital catalog of their physical books
• Join community libraries (based on location, apartment complex, neighborhood, etc.)
• Share books with other community members
• Borrow books from other community members
• Track lending and borrowing activities
• Save books for future borrowing

The App facilitates connections between book owners and borrowers but does not itself own, possess, or control any physical books.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Eligibility

To use Community Library, you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age
• If under 18, have parental or guardian consent
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials

3.2 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• All activities that occur under your account
• Keeping your password secure and confidential
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Ensuring your account information remains accurate

5. Book Sharing Terms

5.1 As a Book Lender

When you make a book available for sharing:

• You confirm you own the book or have the right to lend it
• You agree to make it available to approved borrowers

• You may approve or decline borrow requests at your discretion
• You accept that some wear and tear may occur during normal use

5.2 As a Book Borrower

When you borrow a book:

• You agree to treat the book with care and respect
• You must return it within the agreed timeframe
• You are responsible for the book while in your possession
• You must return it in the same condition you received it
• You agree not to sublend the book to others

5.3 Disputes

In case of disputes regarding books:

• We encourage users to resolve disputes amicably
• You may report issues through the app
• We may mediate disputes but are not obligated to do so
• Repeated violations may result in account suspension

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Share copyrighted digital content through our platform
• Post offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to hack, exploit, or reverse-engineer the App
• Use automated systems to access the App (bots, scrapers)
• Interfere with or disrupt our services
• Collect or harvest other users' personal information
• Use the App for commercial purposes without authorization
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Property

The Community Library App, including its design, features, code, and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our App without permission.

7.2 User Content

When you add books or create content in our App:

• You retain ownership of your content
• You grant us a license to display and use your content within the App
• You confirm you have the right to share any content you upload

7.3 Book Information

Book metadata (titles, authors, ISBNs, cover images) may be sourced from third-party databases. We do not claim ownership of this information and provide it solely to enhance user experience.

9. Disclaimers

9.1 "As Is" Service

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Defects will be corrected
• The App is free of viruses or harmful components

9.2 User Interactions

We are not responsible for:

• The behavior of other users
• The condition or quality of shared books
• Loss, damage, or theft of books
• Disputes between users
• Personal injury or property damage resulting from meetups

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the past 12 months
• We are not liable for actions or omissions of third parties

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Community Library, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your book-sharing activities

12. Termination

12.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the App settings. Upon termination:

• Your access to the App will be revoked
• Your personal data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy
• Any pending book loans should be resolved before deletion

12.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Harm other users or our community
• Fail to return borrowed books repeatedly

13. Changes to Service

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue any feature of the App
• Update these Terms at any time
• Change pricing for premium features (if applicable)

We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

15. Dispute Resolution

Before filing a legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you agree to binding arbitration under the rules of the Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Community Library regarding the use of our App.

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

By using Community Library, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
